<P><B>13 Enzyme in einem Reaktor</B> (rot im Schema), darunter die neue Polyphosphat&#8208;Xylulokinase (XK), wandeln Xylose in H<SUB>2</SUB> und CO<SUB>2</SUB> um, wobei nahezu 100&thinsp;% der theoretisch m&ouml;glichen Ausbeute erreicht werden. Die Ergebnisse legen nahe, dass zellfreie Biosysteme ausgehend von Xylose kosteng&uuml;nstig H<SUB>2</SUB> produzieren k&ouml;nnten. Xu5P=Xylulose&#8208;5&#8208;phosphat, G6P=Glucose&#8208;6&#8208;phosphat.</P>
